In an article dated August 24, 2007 The Washington Business Journal stated that “Many small and midsize businesses downplay -- and often ignore -- the importance of human resource management in a bid to save money. Beware, the lack of HR can wreak havoc on your bottom line.”The article goes on to say that “many growing businesses push HR down on the priority list in favor of tangible, revenue-generating functions or until they get a wake-up call such as high employee turnover or lawsuits over improper conduct or punitive closures.”The author reports that after researching the subject he found that many business owners recommended turning to outside sources if you cannot afford an HR Professional on your payroll at this stage in your business development.
